Mary Jo Kannon
Mary Jo Kannon is an expert in the field of data analytics and its application in the global commercial insurance industry. Prior to her joining Huggins Actuarial Services Inc., she was the VP of Data Analytics for ESIS, Chubb’s Third Party administrator of claims services, where she oversaw the overall data strategy in addition to managing the strategic outcomes and business intelligence teams. Using sophisticated tools and predictive modeling, these teams provided benchmarking and analytics services to Fortune 500 clients.
With over 25 years of commercial insurance experience, she has a broad understanding of the industry and processes that support product development, service delivery and measurement of results.
Ms. Kannon has been actively involved in the Casualty Actuarial Society since 1998 holding various chair positions, most recently serving as co-chair for the Data and Technology Research Working Group. This group recently published a series of essays on Data Science, Data Quality, Business Intelligence and Databases. She is on the CAS conference speakers list for topics including Solvency II Data Quality Requirements, Business Intelligence Concepts for Actuaries and Applied Statistics Concepts.
Mary Jo holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Notre Dame, she is an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society, adjunct instructor for the school of Decision Systems and Sciences at St Joseph’s University and was certified as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt in 2010.
